Springfield's Favorite Family Arrives in Rocket League: Unfortunately Not the Car Fans Are Hoping For
We already knew that The Simpsons was collaborating with Fortnite, but that's not the only place where fans can experience the universe of Springfield. The long-running series is coming over to Rocket League, bringing along an in-game car skin that will also be compatible in the Fortnite universe. That said, whether players will truly desire to equip it is a different matter, as there's only one Simpsons vehicle everyone is itching to drive, and this new offering isn't that one.
The Dream Vehicle
Although most players would undoubtedly love to compete while driving The Homer—the notoriously impractical car the patriarch designed himself in the classic episode "the one where he meets Herb"—regrettably, that isn't what players are receiving. Not even receiving the massive SUV, the enormous vehicle showcased in the tenth season. Rather, fans are getting the Simpsons' standard beat-up four-door, which they've been driving since the show's early days. Though this specific vehicle has accumulated plenty of miles, it stands as an iconic element of the series. And for players who pay attention to Rocket League vehicle dimensions, the Simpson family car uses the same hitbox as the Dominus.

More Than Just a Car
And it's not the sole customization item from the show arriving in the game. The event will also include a set of objectives to earn more goodies, all of which are inspired by the show. According to a press release, the missions will task players to "get as many centers and clears as there are The Simpsons years on air, collect boost pickups as if your GPS is set to The Simpsons’ house, and travel a specific distance sufficient for acquiring the perfect donuts!"
While the complete list of earnable items hasn't been revealed, here is what has been confirmed up to this point:
- Blinky antenna topper
- Homer's hedge-themed banner
- Waste wheels
- 20,000 XP per challenge
Based on promotional images is any indication, it appears fans will also receive rims with a TV displaying The Simpsons' opening credits, Kang and Kodos topper, a frosted doughnut trail, and boost effects themed to smoldering rubber and Krusty's famous restaurant.

The Rocket League collaboration lines up with the major Simpsons invasion of Fortnite's island, which brings a brand-new map of Springfield, in addition to a 30-day seasonal progression system. The Rocket League x The Simpsons celebration begins on November 1st and concludes on Nov. 17.
